Please read the ad thoroughly and email your number with your questions and any interest and I'll get to you ASAP. Up for sale is a RARE half ton capable truck camper that weighs 1400lbs. Due to its light weight it can be used on a 6.5’ or 8’ bed. This 1994 Northern Lite 9-6 is a Canadian made two piece fiberglass 4 season truck camper. The camper has a Queen bed and a wrap around dinette that converts to a double bed. All systems work like new. The non smoking, no pet unit has always been stored in a heated building when it wasn’t being used. We just got back from a 6 week trip and ordered a 2024 model like this one. We replaced the mattress with a new gel foam mattress similar to one you would have at home. A new Coleman 15,000 A/C with a soft starter (makes it easy to run on a small generator) was installed in January. The insulation on these campers are 1” thick foam. The camper left the factory with a weight of 1,464lbs but the Refrigerator was converted to a DC powered Norcold Refrigerator that weighs a lot less and draws much less power.
This will fit most any half-ton, 3/4 ton or 1 ton truck. It has been used on a Tundra and our 1 ton 2023 F-350 that we bought to carry our new unit. Tie down mounts are truck specific but all other accessories need like turnbuckles, black hose, power cable etc are included.
The o-ring seals were replaced on the hydraulic jacks to ensure they stay safe and sturdy, When buying a used truck camper, it’s extremely important to make sure these are very stable. Hijacker Hydraulic jacks are made of Galvanized steel, won’t rust, and they can be rebuilt indefinitely. You can remove them and save 140lbs of weight if you don’t need them on your truck for your trip.
Completely self sustainable on battery or generator, with two grill sized propane tanks. There are no leaks of any kind, roof, plumbing or propane (never has been). We have gone through it thoroughly before our last trip. We are meticulous about keeping our things in order and replacing parts as needed. Under inspection, you will see as you walk around exterior you can see many parts such as connection points are replaced periodically so that they function like new. The group 27 battery was installed 2 months ago and it is wired to charge as you drive your truck using the 7 pin connecter from your truck’s alternator so you don’t have to worry about running a propane fridge while you drive. (This causes a lot of fires in RV’s). Included is a platform that is made for this unit that it can sit on in storage or be used to add height for clearance over the truck cab for super duty trucks. You always want something under them like plywood or rubber mats to protect the gel coat.
Northern Lite’s of this vintage are highly sought after due to being lighter and the fiberglass will last forever, even if you don’t take care of it all that well. The weight of this camper will fit just about every truck -half ton or larger on the market today.
You can use it on a long or short bed truck, it has an aluminum platform that we store it on but it can also be laid in a shorter truck bed truck that extends to the rear to support the overhanging weight.
New units cost $60k plus at dealers before fees, taxes and other costs such as the expensive mounting hardware that I'm including with mine. Our new one was well over $73k. But these are serious campers for any climate that can go anywhere and keep you comfortable.
If you would like to purchase or have questions, please email me your phone number and I'll call you soon. $16k Cash or certified Check. The price is firm. We have title but our state and most states don’t require title and consider it personal property/ truck accessory/ cargo.
